R, W, & G: Holiday Edition!

Hey Cardinals! Hear those silver bells? It’s winter in Greenwich and ‘tis the season for presents, wreaths and sugar cookies galore. You might find yourself receiving an invitation to a holiday party, but are then daunted by the inevitable struggle of finding the right outfit. Rest assured, I’ve got you covered. Read below for the perfect outfits to accompany your holly, jolly holiday season!

LoveShackFancy "Tilson" dress

This strapless dress, complete with extravagant bow detailing on the bust and a ruffled hem, is the epitome of perfection, and sure to be the star of any holiday party. It is, arguably, the most spectacular item in LoveShackFancy’s latest collection, and is currently almost entirely sold out. A closet staple that will be your favorite holiday dress for this season and many, many more.

Sabina Musayev “Ray” dress

The “Ray” dress, from up-and-coming designer Sabina Musayev, is absolutely breathtaking. A gold, metallic, tiered, flowy maxi dress with a plunging neckline is something you need in your wardrobe. Who cares if it only *technically* works for a limited amount of occasions? This dress would even make a statement at the grocery store, so it’s sure to be jaw-dropping at any holiday party this year.

Rock and Roll Cowgirl sweater You heard it here first, folks—every girl needs a metallic sequin sweater in her closet for the holiday season, and this is my personal favorite. The Rock and Roll Cowgirl sweater, available on Zappos.com, can be dressed up or down, making it an incredibly versatile wardrobe staple and perfect for every holiday party dress code. This sweater pairs nicely with skinny jeans (may I suggest the Levi’s 501 black denim jeans), but is also an easy piece to transition into an outfit for a slightly more formal setting when you add a pair of black leather pants. My current favorites are the J Brand “Natasha” pants, which I’ll dive deeper into below.

J Brand “Natasha” pants

These genuine leather pants are the best thing to ever grace the fashion industry. Yes, they are an investment, but if it fits your budget, I would advise purchasing a pair of these versatile staples. However, there are many other excellent leather (and faux leather, for all the animal lovers!) pant options online to accommodate all budgets. I’d recommend checking out Madewell if you can’t splurge right now, but still are aiming for the same classic look. Again, these are such an excellent piece for so many occasions; they pair especially well with a metallic sweater if you desire an upscale holiday party look that isn’t necessarily a dress, but one that still looks feminine and carefully thought-out.

Nicole Miller dress

To say that this Nicole Miller red velvet dress is gorgeous is an understatement. I mean… have you ever seen a more elegant dress for the holidays? Miller’s designs never miss, and this dress is no exception. I love how the velvety fabric and rich, red color almost make the dress reminiscent of a gift bow or holiday ribbon for packaging gifts. In other words, it’s just jaw-dropping. This dress is definitely one of the top picks on my list for favorite holiday outfits this season.

LoveShackFancy “Colville” dressI may be only 15, but I’ve already decided that this dress is what I will be buried in. This is it, it’s the one. The “Colville” dress by LoveShackFancy simply exudes old Hollywood-esque glamour. Personally, I think it’s perfect for a holiday party, but it isn’t only for the winter season. The short-sleeve silhouette allows the dress to be a wardrobe favorite in the warmer months, as well. As the most expensive dress on this list, it’s definitely a splurge, but well worth it, in my opinion. There’s simply nothing like it.

C by Bloomingdale's sweater

My favorite item for sweater season is this C by Bloomingdale’s black, cashmere puff sleeve sweater, embellished with pearls. For those who prefer not to wear the traditional holiday colors such as red and green, but still want to partake in the holiday spirit, this is a great choice! It’s chic, and you can’t ever go wrong with puff sleeves. Plus, this sweater can be worn with jeans, pants, or my favorite option: dressed up with a festive mini skirt. This year, my favorite skirt to pair with this sweater is definitely the elusive Ramy Brook “Missy” skirt, which I'll be mentioning later on.

Ramy Brook “Missy” skirt

If a disco ball were a skirt, it would definitely be the “Missy” silver sequin mini skirt by Ramy Brook. It’s fully embellished with silver sequins, feathers and metallic paillettes, ensuring all eyes are on you this year. This is another item that I feel can be worn across multiple seasons and looks fabulous with both a top or a sweater of your choice. Ramy Brook also sells both a dress and top form of this skirt, named the “Rina” dress and top, in case that’s more your speed. Any option guarantees a stylish holiday season!

Amanda Uprichard “Allora” dress

I couldn’t conclude without mentioning the “Allora” dress from one of my all-time favorite designers, Amanda Uprichard. This dress comes in various colors, but my pick for the upcoming soirees would be the “Crimson” shade, a stunning red color reminiscent of Rudolph’s nose (or Cardinal red!) Uprichard’s dress is sure to dazzle for this season, and my bet is that you will become so obsessed with the silhouette, complete with mock shoulder bow ribbons, that soon you’ll also desire the dress in all the available colors.

The holidays truly are the most wonderful time of the year, and the season is all about celebrating with family and friends—in style, of course. With these holiday outfit selections, you can make a statement at this year’s festivities. Let’s raise a glass to celebrating the season fashionably. Cheers!
